My contribution to Torgeir Rinke Bangstad and Þóra Pétursdóttir’s new book Heritage Ecologies discusses the ecological “emergence” of one particular photograph (John Thomson’s image of the Bayon in Angkor) over the past 150 years, from glass print negative to digital artefact.
The book includes contributions from Rodney Harrison, Levi Bryant, Alfredo González-Ruibal, Caitlin DeSilvey, Timothy Morton and many others.
