Museum Ecologies: Past, Present, Future

In May 2024 I will give the keynote address for the conference Living Apart Together? The troubled and treasured relationship between nature and human beings in art, 1800-1900. This is the annual conference of the European Society for Nineteenth-Century Art, and this year the event will be held at the Kröller-Müller Museum. The theme coincides with the exhibition The Wood for the Trees, which includes work by Andy Holden, Eija-Liisa Ahtila, Julian Charrière and Hans Op de Beeck.
